Well today was my first day working in the athletic department here at Wright State University. Not much done today. It was more of a get acclimated type of day. My mentor, Brand Hays showed me around the office and introduced me to many that work in the athletic department. After walking me around the office I took a tour of the athletic facilities on campus.
The athletic offices are located in the Nutter Center, multi-use arena and home to Wright State University’s Men’s and Women’s basketball and Women’s Volleyball. This is where the tour began. Being a student at Wright State while obtaining my undergraduate degree I was familiar with the Nutter Center. Brandon was able to show me the arena from a behind the scenes view and that gave me more insight of what I was to expect during games and such. After touring the Nutter Center we went to the Men’s and Women’s basketball office, Setzer Pavilion/Mills Morgan Center. Basketball is the only sport that has offices separate from any other sport. The five years I spent getting my undergraduate degree I never once stepped foot inside of the Pavilion. Next was going to see the soccer fields and baseball field. I had already seen the soccer fields before as I was a apart of Wright State’s Club Football team and a football field was right next to the field.
