Hello, my name is Ryan Johnson I am 25 years old and live in Dayton, Ohio with my wife, Danielle and my sons, Major and Maverick.
I have lived in Dayton my whole life but I do not plan on staying here my whole life. I got my undergraduate degree from Wright State University with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership. While in my undergrad I am proud to say that I was part of a team that brought football to Wright State. Although just a club team currently it is still quite the accomplishment because it was attempted many times but failed.
As can probably already tell sports are a big part of my life and I cannot see myself doing anything but working in sports. Going in to college I was certain I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer but that fizzled after a few years. I knew I could not work in that type of environment. This is the time when I knew I wanted to work in sports. I pretty much paid my own way through school working multiple jobs, so I did not get a chance to do any internships or work in Wright State's Athletic department.
Now I have started my family and have only one full-time job that was flexible enough for me to finally get some college level experience in sports. One of tho biggest goals I have is to work in the NFL in a front office position. I am passionate about development and I feel that player development would be something that I can excel in.
Before starting this mentorship I never really thought about marketing but as time goes on I am starting to get the hang of it a little bit. The tasks that I accomplish make me feel like I am doing something important and I like that feeling. Woking behind the scenes at athletic events is a different view than what I am use to but I think I could be good at this as well. Marketing, promotions, and overall game day operations are something I can see myself doing as well.
