Leading up to the game we did our usual routine of getting the concourse set up and hanging the necessary signage. For this game, instead of my usual I made sure I was set up with my script at the media desk and made sure to keep track of the time. It was very important for me to follow the time on the score board as it was the mark that I had to align with on my scripts. Throughout the game I was in contact with our DJ, the band, and our video coordinators. I made sure that they were aware of their place in the scripts and notified everyone when there were about to be Media timeouts so they could be prepared.
I learned the basics of orchestrating the game. I was told, and definitely understand, that the Men’s basketball games move faster and that the orchestration of those games would take a little getting used to. It was very fun for me because I got a deeper look into all that is done in a position that I may potentially want to fill in the future.
