Today was a basketball game vs. George Mason. There was nothing really special about this game; however I did have a hand in the halftime entertainment. For our halftime shows our ticketing person is tasked to find groups to perform at halftime. This is something that is done to drive group ticket sales. If the group that performs at halftime, whether a youth basketball team, jump rope team, magician, etc. they are given tickets at a group discount rate. If a particular group sales so many tickets then the actual group gets their tickets for free.
Earlier this month I was given a task to find someone to perform at halftime, something that they normally don’t get. I used a few of my contacts and was able to find a drumline that was able to come. I showed Brandon and our ticket person, Micki, a video of them performing and they said they looked great and reached out to them to perform. When my oldest brother was younger he was in a drumline and the drumline I got to come was the same one he was in as a youngster. I thought this would be a good idea to get kids from where I grew up to perform because those people aren’t usually represented at Wright State since it is about 20 minutes away. I was proud of the turnout and people seemed to like them.
